The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band
The Big Damn Band is led by Reverend Peyton, who is considered to be one of the premier finger pickers playing today. Rev. has earned a reputation as both a singularly compelling performer and a persuasive evangelist for the rootsy, country blues styles. Described as, "...a group with boundless stockpiles of heart to spare - it cascades throughout every slip-n-slide vintage blues/soul ditty they tear through and croon in every show they play, and they always leave a little behind..."
Opening the concert, we are privileged to welcome troubadour, Tom Letson from Haines, AK and Alaskan rock legends Matt Hopper & The Roman Candles.
Doors open at 6:30 and the concert begins at 7:00. This is an all ages show and is family friendly. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Bring your own reusable cup, this is a plastic free event.

Mat-Su Valley Battle of the Books: Adult Edition
Do you need more challenge than a book club? Create a team and join the Mat-Su Valley Battle of the Books, Adult Edition!
How does it work? You will create or join a team of 3-5 other book loving adults. You have from now until September 26th to read the three chosen event books:
- Black Woods Blue Sky by Eowyn Ivey
- Fuzz by Mary Roach
- Psalm for the Wild Built by Becky Chambers
The way you read the books is up to you. You can purchase, borrow from the library, or listen to an audio book version.
The competition will follow the same rules and structure of the Battle of the Books competition that you my have loved, or dreaded, from your childhood. There will be prizes for winning teams, so grab your friends and/or book club and sign up. If you need help finding a team, please reach out and we'll try to match you up with others who need a team.
