About the pianist:

Roman Rudnytsky is an American concert pianist of Ukrainian background who has been performing around the world for many years. A graduate of the Juilliard School in New York, he has now played concerts in 100 countries. He has been soloist with many orchestras around the world, played in 35 countries through US Embassies as a kind of “cultural ambassador,” and played recitals on about 70 cruises of P&O and Cunard ships. He has been a prizewinner in ten international and national piano competitions.

In addition to his concertizing, Roman Rudnytsky was also a university professor of piano and music for many years, mostly at Youngstown (OH) State University, where he earned a Distinguished Professor Award and, at retirement in 2011, was awarded the title Professor Emeritus.

2023 concerts include his 14th New Zealand tour, recitals on Guam and Saipan, recitals in Britain, two cruises on Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, and his 23rd Australian tour. His recital in Palmer is part of his seventh tour in Alaska, which will also include recitals in Talkeetna, Nome, Petersburg, and Wrangell. On previous tours, he has also played in Seldovia, Homer, Dillingham, Valdez, Haines, and Skagway.
